Dr. Milanovic is accepting new individual clients.
Dr. Melissa Milanovic
As a clinical psychologist, I am passionate about helping clients navigate the often complex and tender landscape of their inner world – especially when emotions feel overwhelming, stuck, or difficult to identify and make sense of. My work centers around supporting clients in developing a deeper relationship with themselves, particularly when early life experiences or long-held emotional wounds continue to shape how they see themselves and relate to others.
Many of the individuals I work with are reflective, sensitive to the world around them, and motivated for growth - yet they often feel burdened by anxiety, shame, guilt, perfectionism, or self-criticism. These emotions may feel like they’ve taken up permanent residence, often echoing the past in ways that feel confusing or painful in the present. For others, there’s a sense of emotional disconnection – knowing something doesn’t feel right, but not quite knowing why or what to do about it.
My work is process-oriented, meaning I’m not just focused on managing symptoms, but on exploring the underlying emotional patterns that drive them. I see emotions as meaningful – each one offering insight into your needs, values, and past experiences. Rather than suppressing or bypassing difficult feelings, we work together to understand them more fully, creating space for self-awareness, healing, and transformation. Additional foundational pillars of my work are the role of attachment and the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe that change happens in the context of connection – when we feel safe, seen and understood exactly as we are. Our work together creates a space where all parts of you are welcome, especially those that have been silenced, shamed, or neglected.
The clients who tend to benefit most from my approach are those who come into therapy with a sense that there is something deeper they want to explore. They may not have all the answers, but they have a sense of what they want to focus on and the willingness to be curious, open, and engaged in a process of self-discovery and meaningful change.
If you’re ready to better understand yourself, tend to the parts of you that have been overlooked or misunderstood, and move towards greater emotional clarity and healing – I’d be honoured to support you.
